And it only took me two months to write it, ha ha.


So I normally don't get into political issues a lot, but since this is an election year and there's pretty much no escape from it, I may as well comment on a few things:


-Please stop calling Obama and the Democratic Party socialists and communists. Last I checked, McCarthyism ended in the fifties, and the Cold War ended in 1990. Plus, a government has to meet certain criteria before it can be called a "communist" government. Some of these things include: Government ownership/regulation of resources, abolishing/forbidding religious practices, and heavy censorship. Last I checked, none of these things are happening to the extent that the United States government could be classified as a communist government.

-"Freedom of religion" does not mean "Freedom of religion if you practice Christianity". On this note, please disregard all candidates claiming they will turn the United States into a Christian nation, this is not constitutional and a direct violation of the First Amendment which forbids the establishment of a national religion. Yes, I am a Christian, but I don't believe in forcing my beliefs on other people because that just makes you look like a jerk.

-Also on that note, just because you don't like something doesn't mean you get to dictate government policy on it. I know a lot of people are against birth control, but the new act says the insurance provider has to offer it directly to the woman. They don't even have to get your approval, so stop whining. I don't agree with the government starting wars and leaping into international conflicts, but I don't get to dictate what the government does based on my beliefs.

Hmmm that's really all I can think of for now, what do you guys think?
